Opening Night Feature Film

Finding Her Beat

A master of Japanese drumming and a Korean adoptee from Minnesota boldly convene an all-female troupe to perform Taiko, the Japanese drumming art that has been off-limits to women for centuries. Buoyed by dynamic drum performances and do-or-die spirit, FINDING HER BEAT is an energizing and uplifting story of music, cultural expression and sisterhood.

Live Taiko performance to accompany this screening!

Friday Night Spotlight Feature

Into the Spotlight

A heartfelt story of how a script, a stage, and a theater program composed of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities celebrate their creativity, explore life’s complexities, and empower a community, in their own words and their own way —creating their own original musical.

The Heart of Texas Behavioral Health Network will partner with us to present this program.

Closing Night Feature Film

Disfluency

After failing her final college class, Jane returns home to her family's lake house, coming to terms with the trauma that derailed her senior year. Winner of multiple awards from Cleveland International, Oxford and Austin Film Festivals, we are proud to showcase this festival darling in Waco.
